The 2008 Big Read NOLA was a great opportunity to revisit an old classic, the high school English standby, To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. William Christy Smith from the Southern Food and Beverage Museum developed a comprehensive lesson plan that emphasized the importance of food and culture; a new way to view the novel.

When I reviewed To Kill a Mockingbird for its anniversary, I came across your lesson plans for using foods with the novel.
